THERMAL STONE JOURNEY
The use of heated stones to calm and restore the body goes back to the dawn of time.
Nova uses a combination of temperatures (with a combination of both hot and cold stones) to invigorate the body at a cellular level.
Our unique journey uses amethyst and quartz crystals to relax and rejuvenate the facial tissues leaving you feeling alive and energised.
During a thermal stone massage; smooth, flat, heated and chilled smoothed stones stones are placed on specific parts of your body. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. A combination of hot and cold stones are arranged on the massage bed under towel and blanket, upon this you lay, whilst hot and cold stones are then placed on different areas of the whole body. Your therapist may hold a stone (with oils) as they massage different parts of your body using Swedish massage techniques with gentle pressure. Nova uses cold stones also; bringing thermal balance to harmonise your systems.
Studies show that a thermal stone massage may be a helpful way to reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, and ease pain and muscle tension. It may be helpful for a variety of conditions and circumstances.
