We use 100% organic, cruelty-free products for our massage treatments and you can even select your preferred blend of aromatic oils if you so choose. ​Zone Therapy (Reflexology) 

Reflexology is massage of the feet that works to promote wellness in other areas of the body. Modern reflexology is based on the principle that the foot has 'reflex' points that correspond to the various structures and organs throughout the body.

Reflexology is a form of complementary therapy in which the feet are rubbed to promote wellness in other areas of the body. Reflexology has gained popularity in recent years, as people have become more aware of the power of touch to heal. Based on an ancient Chinese practice, similar to acupuncture (without the needles) reflexology uses pressure points I(chi-points) on the feet to treat issues throughout the body. Not only do we work on your feet at Nova Holistic Spa, we also spend some time on the other two reflexology zones - your hands and ears. Who doesn't love a super relaxing foot rub! ​Myotherapy Massage

​You shouldn't try to “tough it out” if you have ailments, reach out to us and begin your healing process with our highly qualified and experienced Myotherapy practitioners. In order to reduce pain and stiffness, myotherapy massage goes that bit further; helping prevent soft tissue damage and improve joint movement by using precise, targeted work on the musculoskeletal system. 

What happens during a Myotherapy appointment?
The first appointment (which can last up to 90mins) of your Myotherapy will include taking a medical history, discussing your treatment goals, and assessing your movement and posture. Then we will discuss our findings and possible treatment options with you. For certain conditions your doctor’s permission may be necessary to participate in this kind of treatment.
Following an assessment, we will begin your hands-on treatment. We will then discuss a rehabilitation plan with you.

Sports Recovery/Remedial Massage

​This kind of massage technique helps to prevent and treat injuries, enhance performance, and improve flexibility in athletes (or non-athletes) of diverse disciplines and fitness levels. A trained and experienced therapist will utilize a range of techniques to manipulate the body, including soft tissue, deep tissue and others as needed to address specific areas of the body based on the type of sport, activity, or area of the body that needs the most massage or encouragement to heal.

Champissage (Indian Head Massage)

Champissage is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. It uses a variety of massage pressures and rhythms to stimulate the head, neck, upper back and shoulders. As well as improving the quality of the hair, the treatment relieves tension in the head and neck.

Thermal Stone Massage​

You know what’s different about our Thermal Stone massage? We use hot and cold stone therapy and have personally collected the stones on our walks throughout our travels in Tasmania and throughout the world. Each one has been carefully chosen based on their individual shape, smoothness and size. These stones haven’t been mass produced, they have been thoughtfully chosen for their beauty and suitability to thermal stone massage, bringing a centring to mother earth into our thermal stone massage treatments. 

Apart from its traditional benefits, thermal stone massage can ease muscle tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. Using carefully selected hot and cold stones to suit each client’s body contours and tension areas, our massage therapist applies pressure directly on the stones and indirectly on muscles and joints at specific points on the body in order to reduce tension and release toxins deep inside of your muscles; as well as increasing circulation and releasing knots faster than would occur with a regular massage.

​Lymphatic Massage

​Our bodies need to have a flush out from time to time. Every few weeks in fact to allow our bodies to function efficiently. All the toxins that we put into bodies from medications, high processed food consumption, a lack of exercise and swelling from injuries or surgery can put strain on our lymphatic system causing sluggishness.

Lymphatic massage is performed on the skin to assist the function of the lymphatic system or the immune/circulatory system. The lymphatic system is part of the immune system, and complementary to the circulatory system and its job is to deliver nutrients to tissues and flush away waste products. Unlike the heart that acts like a pump for blood to circulate throughout the body, the lymphatic system relies on manual encouragement with massage to pump the build up of fluid throughout the body. To do this, our experienced massage therapists use long light gentle strokes throughout the body’s lymphatic system. 

There are many benefits to Lymphatic drainage, it can be used post-surgery, post injury, to improve the immune system and defend the body from infection, improve recovery, reduce swelling, encourage feel good hormones and relaxation.

​Prenatal Massage

Hey beautiful Mumma to be, we know how stressful carrying a child can be on our incredible bodies. Let our qualified and nurturing pregnancy massage therapists ease some of your aches and pains and to help you relax. A prenatal massage may also relieve depression and anxiety related to pregnancy, as well as reduce swelling. Before getting a pregnancy massage, make sure to get the ok from your GP or midwife. Please note that we don’t provide prenatal massages until the 2nd trimester.
