DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Studies show that deep tissue massage contributes to improved metabolism and fat reduction. Receive massage in the area with excess fat accumulation and it will break up the fat stores, making it ready for absorption inside the body. Deep tissue massages are used to break up scar tissue and break down muscle adhesions (the “knots” that we feel in our muscles are muscle adhesions, which are bands of rigid and painful muscle tissue). These knots can inhibit our circulation and cause pain and inflammation. A deep tissue massage can be full-body or focused only on one area. You will begin lying on your back or stomach and under a sheet. It's up to you to determine your level of undress. Deep tissue massages begin as a more traditional relaxation massage. After receiving a deep tissue massage, avoid strenuous activity for a day or two, to allow your muscles time to rebuild. Be sure to drink plenty of water as well. A warm Epsom salt bath is a great way to care for yourself following a deep tissue massage. How long should you rest after a deep tissue massage? At a minimum, you should rest for at least 24 hours after your massage to ensure your muscles have plenty of time to repair themselves. Post-massage soreness is completely normal after a sports massage, and your muscles may still feel tight after 48 hours, which is a sign they are still recovering Do not eat a heavy meal or drink a large amount of liquids in the hours before your massage. Deep tissue massage requires intense pressure, which can be uncomfortable if your stomach is full or trying to digest a large meal. For a deep tissue massage to be effective, you must be relaxed. What happens if you don't drink water after a massage? The simple answer is you might experience pain, fatigue, and what is commonly called the DOMS, or Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, after your massage. Deep relief for tired muscles. Book Now! |
